On March 7, 2024, the Materials Industry Club (MIC) organized an impactful Speed Interview Night in GB202, providing MSE students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their interview skills through rapid, 10-minute mock interviews with industry professionals.
The event featured five MSE alumni interviewers from diverse industries, showcasing the strength of the club’s alumni network. MIC utilized its connections with the FASE Alumni Network to bring together these professionals, offering students practical insights into career preparation. The flexibility in the interview format allowed interviewers to adapt the sessions to students' needs, covering both mock interviews and resume reviews.
Eleven students actively participated, engaging in multiple rounds of interviews and receiving personalized feedback. In addition to the interviews, the event featured a resume review booth, where students received advice from MSE peer coaches Sarah Nadji and Amanda Morelli, and a professional headshot station to help students build a polished job application profile.
The event gave students the chance to gain real-world interviewing experience, prepare for future job applications, and connect directly with professionals in their field. The MIC continues to strengthen its role as a vital resource for student career development, ensuring that MSE students are equipped with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
The MIC's Speed Interview Night showcased the club's commitment to bridging the gap between students and industry professionals, helping participants feel more prepared for their future careers. With its focus on building professional connections and providing practical resources, the MIC continues to empower the MSE community as a leading student organization.
