On October 17, 2024, the Materials Industry Club (MIC) hosted a SolidWorks Workshop tailored for students eager to gain hands-on experience in computer-aided design (CAD). Held at the Myhal ECF lab, the event welcomed participants from multiple disciplines, focusing on 1st- and 2nd-year Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) students.


Event Highlights:

  • Participation: Six students joined, supported by four skilled mentors with CSWA certifications, ensuring an exceptional participant-to-mentor ratio.

  • Content: Attendees created two design projects, honing their SolidWorks skills with personalized guidance.

  • Engagement: Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing interest in follow-up workshops, including ANSYS training.


The workshop’s success highlighted MIC’s commitment to practical learning opportunities and fostering technical skills within the student community.
