Headshot Event: Building Professional Profiles

On September 16-17, 2024, the Materials Industry Club (MIC) and the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) Club at the University of Toronto successfully hosted a collaborative headshot event aimed at helping students enhance their professional online presence. Held at the MSE Common Room and nearby Wallberg, the event provided free LinkedIn-ready headshots, catering primarily to 2nd- and 3rd-year students.

Highlights and Engagement:

• Turnout: Over 30 students attended, with higher participation on the second day.

• Setup: Multiple photographers captured photos in a natural outdoor setting for a polished yet approachable look.

• Impact: Many attendees updated their LinkedIn profiles with the headshots, aligning with career-building goals like PEY applications.

This successful initiative not only strengthened connections within the MSE community but also provided students with tangible resources to advance their career aspirations.
