The 2023 Fall Social, organized by the Materials Industry Club (MIC), was a casual event that brought together students and faculty members to connect and socialize. Held on September 21 in WB130, the event featured an icebreaker activity, an MSE club merchandise sale, and refreshments.

Running from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, the social kicked off with an icebreaker activity where participants interacted to figure out which material was taped to their backs. Afterward, attendees mingled and enjoyed pizza and drinks. Around 30 students and faculty members attended, with 20 actively participating in the icebreaker.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for MIC to engage with the MSE community, spreading awareness about the club and its upcoming activities. A slideshow highlighted future events and shared important contact and social media information. For future events, MIC noted the importance of booking the room earlier and adjusting the schedule to avoid conflicts, as well as placing more emphasis on social media engagement to strengthen communication with students.

Overall, the 2023 Fall Social successfully created an inviting space for MSE undergraduates, graduate students, and professors to connect, while allowing MIC to promote its initiatives and build community ties.
